Innova-tsn joins OdiseIA to promote ethical and responsible AI development

  • OdiseIA has held its first international AI hackathon for vulnerable groups “OdiseIA4Good” with the support of Google.org and the Paul VI Foundation.
  • Innova-tsn has presented in “OdiseIA4Good” a generative AI tool that identifies vulnerable areas through data analysis, winning the Award in the Innovation category.

Innova -tsn, a leading consultancy specialising in the integral data lifecycle, has recently joined OdiseIA, the Observatory for the Social and Ethical Impact of AI, created in 2019 as a space for thought, debate and action that seeks to enhance the positive impact of artificial intelligence on society.

As an OdiseIA member, Innova-tsn will participate in the observatory’s institutional meetings, promoting and collaborating in initiatives that help solve current social challenges. In addition, it will be able to leverage internal talent through participation in specialised working groups, actively contribute to the observatory’s initiatives and access exclusive resources.

“Our joining OdiseIA strengthens our firm commitment to contributing to the development of responsible AI solutions, as well as our participation in an ecosystem for creation and discussion together with an excellent representation of industry leaders. And above all, it allows us to amplify our commitment to the development of solutions by and for humans, with special emphasis on facilitating the inclusion and care of vulnerable groups,” says Juan Ignacio Moreno, Head of AI Solutions & Strategy at Innova tsn.

“At OdiseIA we are pleased to welcome Innova-tsn as a new institutional partner. Its membership represents a step forward in our joint commitment to ensuring that artificial intelligence is developed in an ethical and socially responsible manner. I am confident that this union will open doors to innovative projects and collaborations that will leave a positive mark, and we are eager to start working to explore all the possibilities that this new alliance offers us,” says Idoia Salazar, Founder and Chairwoman at OdiseIA.

AI to solve inequalities

As its first action after incorporation, Innova-tsn has taken part in OdiseIA4Good, the first international AI hackathon for vulnerable groups organised by OdiseIA at the end of last February. With the backing of Google.org and in partnership with the Paul VI Foundation, the event brought together experts in technology, data and ethics to develop innovative solutions to urgent social challenges, such as job opportunities for people with disabilities, access to resources for migrants and reducing the rural digital divide.

In this context, Innova-tsn had the opportunity to present the “Vulnerability Radar,” a system powered by large language models (LLMs) that analyses digital content from platforms such as Facebook, X, Google News and Google Trends. By processing the data, the platform detects placename mentions and evaluates associated sentiments to identify geographic areas with higher social vulnerability index, allowing public administrations to develop more precise and effective responses to the needs detected.

The “Vulnerability Radar” is an innovative proposal that seeks to provide up-to-date and accurate information to focus efforts, streamline decision-making and maximise the efficiency of public and private resources in the context of poverty eradication assistance.

This tool designed by Innova-tsn won the award in the Innovation category at the OdiseIA4Good Hackathon, a recognition that underscores Innova-tsn’s ability to use artificial intelligence to identify and analyse critical areas where intervention is most needed. Innova-tsn’s “Vulnerability Radar” reflects a strong commitment to applying AI to address pressing social problems. This achievement is undoubtedly a clear example of how innovation can be a powerful tool for the common good.

“Our project demonstrates the potential of AI to identify and address the needs of vulnerable groups, enabling a more agile and effective response. At Innova-tsn, we are convinced that technology is the key to building a more equitable society, and OdiseIA4Good has provided us with the ideal space to transform this vision into tangible solutions with a measurable and meaningful social impact,” points out Ana María Niño Salazar, Business Development Consultant at Innova-tsn.
